School of Screenprinting

Class Instructor |Bill Hood has been involved in the screen printing industry since he began assisting his father to screen print signs in the family garage in the 1940s. Having been involved in many aspects of the screen printing industry, he has owned and operated both graphic and textile shops.

The author of several books including, "50 Ways to Increase Your Business," he is the creator of the Screen Print Manager Software Suite which includes the popular ScreenQuoter™ Estimating Software. Hood has also written hundreds of technical articles for the screen printing industry and is active within the screen printing community. He is the receipant of many awards for his designs and superb screenprinting.

Hood has presented seminars to graphic arts professionals across the country on various topics related to screen printing. Look for him at the Imprinted Sportswear Shows where he will be speaking on a wide range of subjects. In addition, he has served as both a supplier and a manufacturers representative, a consultant to the industry, has assisted in shop startups, problem solving, and has developed specialized programs for various size shops.

Hood owns and operates Violet Crown Screenprinting in Austin, Texas. The award-winning screenprinting company produces custom, contract and pre-prints in the textile department as well as wide variety of graphic type work.

Hood manages to balance a strict adherence to standards, values and conduct while presenting his classes. His blunt honesty and integrity is widely known throughout the industry. He does NOT sell products before, during or after the workshops. He offers the only "education only" training in the world.
