Frequently Asked Questions...
.: Where
is The Thirteenth Floor located?
The
13th Floor, and all of its exclusive facilities, are for the
private use of our guests only. We are located in a secluded, yet
centrally located and easy to get to location in the Dallas / Fort
Worth Metroplex. To maintain our guests' privacy, our address is
provided only to our guests when they make a reservation to attend
a party.
.: Is
there a dress code?
Yes. Most people dress as though they are going out to a nightclub or dinner. Ladies love dressing in sexy lingerie, short/tight dresses, risque clothing or perhaps nothing at all. Casual dress is best for men. Nice dress slacks are permitted as are dress shorts when the weather permits. We have a changing area and lockers for those of you who like to change outfits during the evening. We do not allow ragged and torn blue jeans, bib overalls, overly baggy clothing, gang related articles, T-shirts, caps or work boots. The only exception to the we do not allow rule is if we are having a theme night, and these particular items fit into the theme.
.: What
are the invitation requirements?
All
guests must be 21 years of age or older. Guests
must have proof of age and those without proper identification will
not be allowed on the premises. Please visit the rules pages for
guest requirements. We reserve the right to deny entry onto the
premises.
.: It's
our first time. What should we expect?
The
most important thing to understand is that nothing is ever expected
of you. Our guests are very respectful creating a comfortable enjoyable
atmosphere. You are ALWAYS in control. We encourage you to go at your own pace and do only what you feel comfortable with.
.: What
are the guests like?
Our
guests range in age from 21-60; most are professionals. Our guests
are very friendly and respectful, creating an atmosphere that is
easy to feel comfortable in.
.: Are
people aggressive or pushy?
No.
Our guests are very respectful of one another. 'No' means just that,
'no'. We have rarely had to ask anyone to leave due to inappropriate
behavior, but when necessary we do so in a calm but firm manner.
.: What
time should I arrive?
First time guests MUST arrive between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm. This allows us time to give you a tour of the house, spend a few minutes on a brief orientation and get you to complete our adult consent form. This way we get a chance to meet you, show you around and address any questions you may have before it gets to hectic. Valid picture IDs are required for first time guests. Returning guests are asked to arrive after 8:30pm and prior to midnight. In order to allow us to complete party preparations, our doors will not open until 8:30pm.
.: Am I obligated to stay if I take the tour?
While we certainly hope you will decide to stay, we know that the 13th Floor is not the place for everyone. After taking the tour and/or listening to our brief orientation, please feel free to leave if you feel that is the right decision for you. We will wish you well and you will be welcome to come back and join us in again another night if you decide to do so.
.: What
are the various nights like?
We
do have theme parties from time to time where individuals may dress
for the occasion or not. Check our Events page. Wear your grass skirt and coconut shell
bra on the Hawaiian Get Leid Night, or your jeans and boots on Western
Night. Other nights just dress in comfortable clothing and enjoy
yourself. You can expect about 30 to 75 couples on an average Saturday night.
Friday night parties are smaller, but many couples enjoy this less busy environment. There are always some single women in attendance and a limited number of select single males.
.: Are
single men allowed?
We allow a limited number of single males on Friday evenings. We ask single males wanting to join us to contact us on Friday after 5:00 p.m. On Saturday evenings single males must have a female companion or be sponsored by a couple attending the party that evening. The sponsoring couple must let us know when they make their reservation that they will be sponsoring a single male that evening.
.: What
is the smoking policy?
We have smoking & non smoking areas. There is absolutely no smoking in the bedrooms. Due consideration for other guests is expected and required.
.: What
are the people like and what are their ages?
Here at The 13th Floor you will find guests that are just like you and me. Relaxed, very friendly and sociable. They range in ages from 21-60, but we find the average ages to be between 35 and 45.
.: Why
should we consider attending?
We acknowledge the importance of developing relationships with others and encourage you to take the opportunity to mingle and converse with others. We maintain a comfortable number of couples at each of our events. We do not discriminate based on race, creed, nationality or physical appearance, however, we work hard to ensure that everyone's preferences are acknowledged and respected.
.: Are
our names ever given out?
NO!
Your name, address, phone number and other personal information
are personal and kept confidential. We never give them out to other
guests and we do not sell
or rent our mailing lists. EVER!
.: What about drug use?
Any illegal substances are prohibited both in the house and in the parking area and offenders will be immediately removed from the premises. Don't subject yourself and others to any legal problems.
.: What
if I find myself in an uncomfortable situation?
Always remember, No means No. Don't ever be embarrassed or afraid to use those words in an uncomfortable situation. Do not ever do anything tonight that you will regret in the morning. You are here to have fun. Being forced is no fun, and not tolerated. If anyone persists, talk to us immediately so we can take care of the situation. If you are unable to find Bruce, Vicki or Len, please locate one of the volunteers who help during the parties. Please do not wait until the following day to inform us of a problem as it is usually difficult to figure out what guest you may be referring to and exactly what occurred.
